Calling time on Edwardian liquor controls
In news close to home Vancouver is today reviewing its alcohol laws. Its is
proposed that restaurants be allowed to serve alcohol to 1pm on weekdays and
2am on weekends. So fingers crossed, lets hope this happens. 

Social Media Sites Help with Management of Specific Diets.
Two new Vancouver companies using the medium of social media to
manage the way you eat. Nutristyle allows you to plug in the specifics
of your diet and will direct you to nearby grocery stores and Gling
which helps people manage a gluten free diet. 

$$$ for Helping Shape the Social Media Landscape.
It appears there is an increasing trend for businesses to offer
pay offs for increasing their social media presence. This week website Eater
National (www.Eater.com) offered $25 to anybody willing to shut down their food
blog.

Or if you are not going to shut your blog down say something nice. In August, a
story broke where restaurants in San Francisco were offering a
20% discount in-exchange for being reviewed on the website yelp.

On a totally different tack - if you think you have the ultimate kitchen
check this out This week also saw that dishwashers can apparently be cool
how about an ultrasonic dishwasher. Which does not need detergent to clean
your dishes. It also looks like a prop from a sci-fi movie which helps.
