April Restauranteur Event: Raising Revenue in a Recession

If you want to have quick and easy ways to raise your restaurant’s revenue, please sign up for our free event. We will be covering blogging, social media, search engine optmisation and using new marketing tools like LetsGoForDinner to generate additional revenue for you.

Restaurants and CTO’s

We have been very busy with recruiting a new CTO and we now have John on the team which is brilliant. John has a great background in working with start ups, growing businesses and teams, and working on the marketing. It is a great fit.

This will mean that we will be able to roll out new features, links and abilities in very short order. The team is very excited by being able to have more control of over its destiny

We are planning a new event for Restaurants to help them navigate these rough economic waters.

POS list has grown to 930 restaurants, which means more restaurants to target and more for the website.

More soon

More interest and more restaurants?

After our BIV article, we have had a series of approaches by different groups who would like to work with us. Two charities have spoken and met with us, which is very exciting. One of them is very large and another one, is well up on new tech which is very helpful.

Just found out the cards I ordered a month ago for PWN, which should have been here by now, seems the company forgot to print them. I hopefully will get them this week, we shall see.

We need more restaurants, we are getting there, more meetings for next week, lucky 13. We need restaurants, I cannot service the charities/raise revenue without restaurants. If you know a restaurant with Micros and Squirrel POS terminal (a computer cash register) let us know, we can help them make money, no cash upfront…. sell/sell/sell :)

Slowly building a database of Vancouver’s best restaurants now at 760.. yes a little bigger than the Vancouver eating and drinking guide, no much, much bigger.

400 restaurants POS systems listed already and going strong – adding 30-40 restauarnts to the list a week and from the list we identify 100 POS per week.

We are getting there, 2/3 weeks we will be firing on all cylinders, it will all be there soon. Events, partnerships… marketing material for restaurants… GO

Getting there another fan

Had a call as I was walking to the “Doing Business in Tough Times”, from a big supporter at KPMG. He wants to put us forward for a X Magazines most innovative concept. It was a great surprise.

4:45am, Kits, PR and a CTO

It is always fun to get up in the morning and walk down to West Point Grey Academy (www.wpga.ca) in freezing conditions to wait for the bus to take your daughter to a swimming meet. Despite our alarm not going off, the “alarm bells” were ringing when the bus was not there at 5:20am. The bells got louder when I was told “we booked the bus in a different way”, I knew that we would have fun at -1. It was great when the bus was finally spotted at 5:50am on 8th .. though we were in the 4th st parking lot. The kids all left at 6am … quite excited.

The only thing that can warm you up is good PR and we have been featured in Kitsilano.ca (http://www.kitsilano.ca/2009/01/25/letsgofordinner-doubles-your-dollar/) today. This is the third bit of PR with Techvibes http://www.techvibes.com/blog/dine-out-discounts-year-round-in-vancouver) and Business in Vancouver (http://www.biv.com/subscriber/03news.asp).

Our CTO recruitment is going well and we have some very able candidates coming through. Could be a brand new ball game soon.
